Within your Canon G9 system, you’ll need to access the Canon G9 tool properties for your particles.
Load a few Canon G9 images, and apply them to the emitting particles. Position the Canon G9 camera as you like, such as up-close and underneath the particle
stream. This will allow the particles with Canon G9 images applied to whiz past the camera.
Using a little motion blur and setting depth of field for your Canon G9 camera will
also add to the effect.

Time Lapse Commute

Thanks to a digital camera with a time lapse mode, I’ve developed a fascination with time lapse photography. It presents everyday life in a whole new perspective. Seemingly stationary things, like clouds, move in beautiful ways, and things we’re used to seeing move in realtime, like traffic, move in patterns that can only be seen at high speed.

This is my commute from home to campus in the morning, then campus to home in the afternoon. The camera was mounted on a tabletop tripod positioned on my dashboard. It took a couple spills until I learned how to anchor it properly — sorry about that.

Equipment:
Camera: Canon Powershot G9, 1 second time lapse
Car: 2002 Toyota Prius

Filmed on January 14, 2008

Music: “Powerhouse” by Raymond Scott
