Cheap, High Quality Travel Camera?
I'm taking a study abroad trip around the world in the fall (Spain, Ghana, South Africa, Mauritius, India, Viet Nam, China, & Japan). I'm looking for a camera that is good for beginners, takes high quality pictures, isn't huge, and won't break my wallet.
Any ideas?

The PowerShot S5 IS is an excellent camera. However, it's discontinued. Fortunately, there is a successor of it, the SX10 IS. The SX10 IS features 10 Megapixels and 20x optical zoom. It costs you around $370.
If you want a smaller one, consider the PowerShot SX200 IS. It offers 12 MP and 12x optical zoom. Its price is about $350, and it's available in 3 colors.

I'm using a Ixus 900Ti, and I must confess that the Ixus series are really really good. It's a bit more pricey, but definitely worth every penny.
The Powershot series are also very good cameras. But for me it is bit more bulky than the Ixus, but I guess you'll never even notice it.
Canon for me is the way to go!
