Canon Digital Pocket Cameras

High end photography on a budget.

Sep 8, 2008

I just purchased the Canon Powershot G9. First off, I am not a professional, I just wanted a good camera…?

I know sometimes better quality means "bigger" and "bulkier". Which is my problem with the G9. It is a bit large and as heavy as a brick! I just wanted to know, is the Canon G7 this big and heavy? Thank you!
Yes, I bought it sight unseen. After all of the reviews I have read, I thought it would be a good choice for a camera that is still kind of a point and shoot, but not yet a DSLR.

Did you purchase the G9 sight unseen?

IMO you made a good choice.

Spend some time and READ & STUDY the Owner's Manual so you can get the most out of your new camera.

Buy a comfortable neck strap for it and keep it hanging around your neck so you don't drop it.

  2. Richard Said,

G9 is expesive, people who own those are usually DSLR pro photographer use G9 as a backup camera, G9 no doubt most powerful camera that can kinda fit your pocket. But up to you with that price range, you could get to Entry Level of DSLR like the rebel or D40.
