Good camera for indoor/low-light shots?
Hi. It is 2009 now, I'm looking for a digital camera that is good to use indoors in low-light areas (eg. restaurants, night clubs, etc.) and it should be very good with macro shots. It should be easily fitted into my pocket. I'm open to Panasonic, Sony, Canon, Fuji. etc.
Thanks.
How are the Panny Lumix FX38 and Sony Cybershot W300? Will they suit my needs?
Any specific camera suggestions?
Low-light, non-flash photography is why people buy a DSLR and a 50mm f1.4 lens. Digicams like the ones you list are completely unsuited to what you want to do.
Digicams are cursed with a slow lens and a tiny sensor. When you use a high ISO to compensate for the slow lens the result, due to the tiny sensor, is a poor image that is overwhelmed by digital noise.
I suggest you read the article at http://www.photoxels.com/tutorial_learn_exposure_lowlight.html for an explanation of what low-light, non-flash photography requires.
