Canon Digital Pocket Cameras

Hi,
I am looking to replace my Canon PowerShot G7 with one of the newer versions, (G9 or G10). However, I have seen mixed reviews on both of them. I have decided to purchase one of them for sure, just want to know what the general consensus is on which one is the better one.

Please, can anyone give me any advice, tips, or guidelines on what to look for when purchasing this camera. I want to make sure I get the best camera for my money.

Both are good, the G10 is a generation on and with more resolution, it also has a wider lens (at the expense of the tele zoom) but for my tastes this is better, the wide angle on the G9 is only moderate at best.

If you like your G7 then the only practical reason to upgrade to a G9 would be for RAW mode, it's essentially the same camera other than this.

The G10 is a better upgrade if you can sacrifice the zoom, but if your G7 ain't broke I'm tempted to say keep running it for now. Theres always something better round the corner.

Another option to consider would be the EOS 1000D?….
A serious upgrade.

I am looking for a camera that is/has:

Less than $200
Takes nice high quality images.
Good zoom, for those pictures that are far away.
Features like macro, night, and face recognition, that work very well.
Is pocket size.
Flash.

You know I want a nice camera, that will work for awhile and that I can take great pictures. I was looking into the Canon SD1100, but heard there was noise in the pictures, and than the Fujifilm FinePix Z200fd which I haven't found reviews on. Thanks.

i got mine for $ 100 bucks. It takes amazing pictures. You can get them at future shop or toys r us. Its a Samsung S760. It also has great face detection.
